Welcome Greetings from up north. You have landed on the home page of Philip Tschersich in Kodiak Alaska. This site was created in order to entertain and inform friends, family, and curious strangers as to the beauty in Alaska. It was also built to give those who know me an idea what the heck I am up to all those months when they don't hear from me. This site focuses on wildlife and scenic photography throughout south central and western Alaska. There are many images from my job on the Alaska Peninsula with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, and from my home on Kodiak Island.

Navigation In order to make your navigation easier as this site grows I have split it into a few different pages based on content. The thumbnails in the navigation bar at left will link you to a slide show related to that topic. Then click on "Home" to return to this page or click the "next image series..." link to view the next topic.

Tips Allow the entire page to load before clicking any thumbnail links. All the large images in this site are progressive JPEG's and will initially appear in a low resolution. Over the course of 2 subsequent scans they will become much clearer so be a little patient. If the ad banner annoys you (as it does me), just click in the main browser window to move the floating ad banner window to the back (rather than collapsing it because then it just pops back up when you click any link). This site was optimized for monitors running at 800x600 pixels or larger displaying thousands or millions of colors.
